What we offer

Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.

Canteen

All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.

Canteen is on every Friday (unless otherwise notified in the school Newsletter).

Uniforms

When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.

Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:

  • meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation

  • includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics

  • is appropriate for the full range of school activities

  • is suitable for all body shapes.

Uniforms at Chillingham Public School

All students wear their uniform with pride. Uniforms are available from the school office. Each student's first uniform is supplied free.

Sun Safe Playground

In accordance with the Cancer Council recommendations, students wear a broad brimmed hat when outside.  A "NO HAT- NO PLAY" policy is in effect. Students are also encouraged to wear sunglasses. These are available from the school for $5 (with thanks, subsidised by P & C).

Sunglasses have also been included as part of the uniform for your child's protection. They are fitted and the P&C subsidise the cost to families.

Hiring our facilities

You may apply to use our school’s facilities for appropriate purposes provided your hiring of the facility doesn't interfere with our teaching and learning programs.

We assess each application on a case-by-case basis. Find out more at Using school facilities.

If you’re interested in hiring our facilities, contact us for details.

Keen for Green

The school environmental management plan is integrated in all key learning areas of the curriculum consistent with community practices.

Students and staff care and maintain our natural environment, including our beautiful rainforest. Through these activities your child will develop an understanding about:

  •  sustainable management of our natural resources
  •  reducing, recycling and reusing resources to minimize waste
  •  conserving energy resources
  •  protecting the natural environment for our native animals
